Based in Denver, Colorado, Koelbel and Company has been a force in shaping Colorado’s commercial and residential real estate since 1952. The longest-operating family-owned real estate development firm in the region, Koelbel has a slate of developments stretching from the mountain communities to metropolitan Denver. The company is currently under the leadership of Buz Koelbel as president and CEO.

Koelbel family ties to Grand County.

Buz Koelbel’s father, Walt Koelbel, and maternal grandfather, Denver industrialist Carl Norgren, understood the value of Colorado’s land resources. Norgren built a Grand County ranch dubbed the Western White House because it became a favored retreat of President Dwight D. Eisenhower in the 1950s. Norgren’s ranch initiated a tradition of imaginative mountain resort projects that are a continuing passion of Koelbel and Company.

In addition to Grand Elk, Koelbel and Company is also the developer of nearby Rendezvous Colorado, a trailside community on the edge of Winter Park, and The Residences at Rendezvous Center, modern townhomes and flats in downtown Winter Park.
